WILL OF JOHN PIPES Jr.

Mercer County Court Records, Harrodsburg, Kentucky Will Book 7, Page 52

In the name of God Amen.

I, John Pipes of the County of Mercer, State of Kentucky, being at this time in a low state of health, but of sound mind and memory, and calling to mind the uncertainty of life, do make and constitue this my last will and testament:

First I commend my soul to God and my body to the earth to be disposed of in a decent Christian burial and as to my worldly Estate I give, devise, and dispose of in the following manner:

(To wit) To my wife Mary Pipes I give and bequeath all my Estate of every description, both real and personal, if after all just debts are paid during her natural life, should she remain a widow, and from and after her death or in case she should again marry, then my Estate of every description to be sold on such credit as my Executor may deem expedient, and the proceeds of Sale divided among all my children.

(To wit) Rebecca Grissom, Abby Harmon, Elizabeth Shaw, Nathaniel Pipes, Sarah Pipes, Mary Crane, Nancy Gray, Jane Gray, Morris Pipes, and William Pipes and share alike, after taking into consideration what each one already received, so to make each one portion the same.

And for the faithful performance of this last will and testament I nominate Stephen Stimmons and Peter Harmon my Executors.

In testimony of which I have here unto set my hand and seal: this 15th day of July 1821.

JOHN  X   PIPES
