copy of the money from Mary Morris Pipes

I received this note with copies of the money certificate from Mary Pipes Moroney several years ago.

Aug. 8, 1993Dear Robert,

Today I received this copy of the Continental Currency $60 certificate which my great, great, great grandmother Mary Morris used to prove her husband, John Pipes, served in the Revolutionary War thereby obtaining a pension. The original is being held in the Archives of the Kentucky Historical Society, Frankfort, KY -

The inscription on the bill reads:

Sixty Dollars No. (unreadable number)

This bill entitles the bearer to receive Sixty Spanish milled Dollars

or the value thereof in Gold or Silver according to a resolution passed

by Congress at Philadelphia, Sept. 26th, 1778
