Abner was a son of Washington Pipes of Greene Co. Pennsylvania. He served in the 140th Pa Infantry during the Civil war and then in 1884 moved his family to Kansas. His wife was Intha Estella Hinerman and they raised 7 children in Hill City, Graham Co., Kansas. You can see more about him on the Civil War soldiers page.
Henry and Phoebe (Pipes) Allard moved here sometime after 1871 with their 5 children. Henry died here and the children all married here. Phoebe moved on to Washington State as did some of her married children.
