Pipes Descendants              Ohio   1815 - 1900

Almost all of the descendants of the Pipes family moving into Ohio from 1815 to 1900 were from the families of Joseph and John Pipes from Washington and Greene Co, Pennsylvania. They moved to Knox, Licking, Jefferson and Morrow Counties where they established farms and communities. Some of their descendants live there today. The first Pipes that can be documented is Isaac, a son of John Pipes and Eleanor Slater. Isaac was born in 1798 and apparently moved to Columbiana Co., Washinton Twp. about 1815. He shows up on the 1820 Census for Ohio in that county. Isaac married Sarah Elliot in Jefferson Co. on Dec 17, 1817 and they remain there with their children for several generations.
