Pipes Texas 1850-
We know that several of the descendants of Phillip Pipes moved to Texas from
Alabama and also several descendants of the family of Windsor and Abner moved
to Texas from Louisiana. At least one family moved here from Missouri at
a later date. Work is in process to complete this part of the story.

John Pipes and Mary Gibbons and
their family are in Smith County in 1850. They are one of the first families
to move to Texas. His brother Abner, listed next, came to Texas probably at
the same time. John and Abner were sons of the original Abner from
Mississippi.
There is a record of a Charlotte Scott who married John Abner Pipes
in 1861 in Cherokee County, Texas, This John Abner Pipes (Also known as
"Jack") is a son of John and Mary.

Abner Pipes and Nancy Ferrell appear to be the first or second Pipes Family to move
to Texas. They show up on the 1850 Census in Sabine County, which is along
the Louisiana/Texas border. A brother to John Pipes listed above.

John F. Pipes, a son of Morris Pipes of Marion Co., Kentucky, married Isabella
Nash in October 1853 and they moved to the Dallas area from Kentucky with
her father, Thomas Jefferson Nash and his entire family later that same year.

Wesley E. Pipes located his family in Texas in Johnson Co. about 1850-1858.
They were from Louisiana.

The family of Isaac Thomas Pipes ( A descendant of Windsor Pipes) of Louisiana
moved to Texas in 1876. They settled near Dublin, in Erath Co., Texas after
first spending time in McClennan County near Waco. David Pipes, his father
also came to Texas with the family.

John Nathaniel Pipes, a descendant of John Pipes Jr. of Kentucky came to
Celina, in Collin County, about 1881. The family later relocated to White
Deer, Texas about 1910.

The family of Samuel Pipes, a Great Grandson of Phillip, moved to Texas from
Alabama about 1890. They located south of Dallas.

Robert Pipkin Pipes moved from Louisiana to Red River Co., Texas in the spring
of 1881 with his 3 children; Charles, Lelah and Willis.

William Washington Pipes moved from Louisiana to Henderson and later Anderson
Counties about 1893.

George Lafitte Pipes went to Texas between 1887-1896 and lived in Bowie Co.

Jonathan Wesley Pipes and M. P. Edminson moved to Texas about 1890-1892
and lived in Van Zandt County.

David Phillip Pipes located toTexas from Louisiana in 1895-1897 and also
lived in Van Zandt County.

Charles Price Pipes moved to Van Zandt County from Louisiana in 1895-1898

Uriah Clinton Pipes moved to Texas from Louisiana about 1895 and lived in
Colorado County.

John Holmes Pipes lived in Cooke County, Texas near Gainsville after leaving
Louisiana in the mid 1880's.
