Pipes Descendants      West Virginia       ca. 1850

Abner Pipes, a descendant of the family from Greene Co., Pennsylvania, moved to the area of W. Virginia that was later to be called Tyler Co. He must have moved there between 1845 and 1850 as the census records show him in 1850.  A few of his relatives joined him and three of his descendants served in the Civil War from here.

Several others moved from Greene County to Cameron, W. Virginia during or just after the War, among them was Dr. John Pipes, his father Washington Pipes and his brother, James Milton Pipes, who lived there for a time after the war.
